Learn about the new model of the Solognac X-Access Size S Organizer EDC Pouch from Decathlon. I show you what it looks like, how it works, and what I plan to keep in it.

I purchased this organizer pouch to keep small adapters, my EDC Victorinox Swiss Army Knife, and every day carry items for urban EDC. Mostly USB adapters, glue, and duct tape to fix things quickly when needed.

The Solognac brand from Decathlon is made mostly for hunting and fishing, but the Solognac X-Access organizer pouch can be used for every day carry EDC items in an urban or rural environment.

Introduction and Brand

Today I show you the Solognac X-Access small pouch, the new model. This is the Solognac brand, or Solognac how I used to call it. Solognac brand is a brand from Decathlon and they sell these things in the Decathlon shops. They have multiple sports activities and this is in the hunting and fishing department, actually more in the hunting department.

I have the, this is the new model of the X-Access EDC pouch. They started calling it EDC now. X-Access pouch S. And that’s the old model of the pouch. I thought actually this one is going to be smaller than the old one, but surprisingly the new one seems to be just a little bit larger, more capacity than the old ones. So I don’t know if I like that. Well I’ll make a comparison in a future video.

Also I have the medium. This is the Solognac medium and the difference is pretty much this opens horizontal, this is vertical. I compare it with this one also. This is the first time I’m opening it actually. I saw pictures on the website of Decathlon and how it works and I like this new system of this molle and X-Access system to mount on a backpack. When you have the molle systems with those bands which they’re, they are modular basically. So modular pouches and bags.

The label now, in the old one, in the old pouch, the label was inside and only a small label outside. So this is the old model and that’s the new model. That’s the new model here, X-Access pouch XS. And it’s made in China for sure. I mean it could be somewhere else but this one is made in China.

Label and Manufacturing

You basically, you could hand wash it so it’s allowing you to do a hand washing. And these symbols you check them, maybe you know better what they mean. To me I understand only handwashing is really allowed with this and it’s 100% polyester. Let’s see what’s the next one. Just showing the label because I will remove it and I want to save the information in the video in case I needed, I need to know what was written here. So that’s the label and more here.

I start with the boring part of the video but really this is necessary to know. This is Chinese information and even the manufacturer date, they always like to put the manufacturer date. So this was made in 2024, week six or month six, I’m not sure. I’m not sure. That’s some batch number. So that’s model number X-Access pouch S. And there you have the RFID tag. They all have these RFID tags in Decathlon, all the products. This looks like it was quite a bit of the fluff when they put it on so interesting.

See that’s the serial number. Each item has a unique code so that’s why, how they can scan, they put all together in one box and they scan all the RFID tags.

External Features and Mount

So this one has a tiny pull strap here, you can hold it like this. Before it used to be bigger but I think I like this one more. And I like this logo. I think their logo is pretty nice how they made it, the new one. The new logo is pretty nice how they make it, the new one. And it seems to be sewn properly and with the right proportion. This one is a bit bent here but doesn’t really matter.

So Solognac, Solognac, I used to call this Solognac. I thought it was G, I don’t know, I always read it as a G. Resistant gear. I have a few T-shirts from them, really nice, they’re really durable. I had them for, I have a few T-shirts from them, really durable, I had them for few years and they resist, resistant gear.

So okay let’s see the straps here. So you have one, this clip, I think clips, I don’t know how they’re called. They have a bit of, this one has a bit of a wear. I didn’t do that, I just bought it and I kept it in a drawer until I show it to you. And that’s how you open it. So you have also hook and loop, very solid hook and loop here. Doesn’t open further. And does it, no. So it’s two, two layers here. There’s no way this is going to break. The whole bag would break before this breaks.

So you can put it on a molle strap like here and then the hook and loop will hold it together. And as an extra feature you can, you will add these clips here. Don’t know exactly how they’re called, the name. And now it’s secured in place. They’re both the same, they both, they both open the same way pretty. Okay it’s not very quick. The old model was much quicker to open, but I like the, I like the new model more because this, when you put it on a bag actually you don’t want it to open, you want it to stay in place, don’t want it to go anywhere. So here there is no other external pocket, no front pocket here.

Interior Compartments

Let’s go after 8 minutes of recording, probably a few minutes on into the video. Let’s see the zipper. So the zipper is much much smaller, much smoother. That’s the old one versus the new one. So I like the zipper in this, the new models more.

So here you have the compartments. This is the goodies area. When you hold the bag from this handle, the bottom here it will be solid, it will not open by mistake so you might lose something or anything like that. That wouldn’t happen.

So we have here, I like this actually really, I like them a lot. So you have here, there is a, these are all elastic, flexible, it’s elastic like rubber bands, but it’s cloth, it’s the elastic, elastic bands for clothing, it’s not plastic. It feels like cloth. And you can put things here so you can put something of three fingers side size here, another three finger size here. I don’t know how to explain it. So it’s easy, maybe like a card size. And then in these ones you could fit something that’s two fingers wide but it’s a bit over, too much, maybe one and a half. So one, one and a half finger or one finger, it’s going to be a bit loose. Maybe like a pocket knife or something like this. And here this is the edge, you have it here so it’s not going to unravel inside.

On the other side is the same story but here you have two fingers which will fit pretty well instead of three like the other one. And now there is one very, maybe it doesn’t fit here. No. Interesting how they did this one. But no, I think you could still put one thing here through there and another two fingers there. And now you get two fingers here looser and two fingers here. So it’s interesting why they chose to make it like this instead of having this the same. They made this maybe so it’s more sizes to be able to fit more things.

But this, this also it’s interesting. This looks like a mistake. Did they make a mistake when they made this? I mean they, they sewed this over so all this is sewn together, even, yeah it goes through the other edge from there. So you cannot use this at all. That’s strange. I mean I guess you could cut this off and still use this as a pocket, but I don’t understand why they would do something like this. That’s very weird. Maybe it really is a mistake when they made it.

Usage and Conclusion

So the material it’s, feels waterproof, feels pretty good actually. There are, there is this around here. Have this extra padding on and nothing really sharp. Only these clips, the back side here, very, and they covered by this material so everything is really scratch proof to say. You have one pocket here you can fit a notebook, another pouch, a mini EDC kit you can go there. So this is really good for EDC. You can really fit maybe even a small phone. I could fit the portable recorder, I could go in there maybe something like that. I think it could fit in there but I don’t know.

I could use this for the audio gear recording kit, EDC kit when I need to go outside to record some audio and videos. Yeah this side also has the zipper here so it’s pretty smooth. This pull string like paracord but it’s not really, it’s just a black cord. Cordage looks like paracord but I don’t think it’s, just black cordage. But it’s nice that it’s flexible and thin, not too thick. I like that. Because I know it’s catching here.

Okay so here we have just a pocket. I think the, the material in the old one was more rugged. The material in the new one it’s a bit thinner but it is waterproof. I feel like it’s plasticky inside. And this pocket is pretty, this pocket is pretty spacious. The pocket is really spacious actually. You can put here another pouch like a small, you kit for medical kit or modular EDC kit where you have some things, some things where you take with you in some days and some on another day.

Final Thoughts

Overall this is pretty, pretty good together. So they’re not very expensive, it’s really cheap actually. They had an offer for Black Friday so it was really really cheap to buy this one. Even though I had the previous one I thought I’ll buy this one because I like the zippers on the new models. And also now I have these three of them and I compare this with this and that’s with that in future videos so you see like how you can use it.

And I will actually show you how I pack this bag to turn it into the current EDC kit, to move things from the old bag into the new bag. The old bag has a bit of a bigger handle here but that’s okay, the small one also has it and you don’t really use this handle most of the time. If you use this on a bag it’s going to be stuck with the belts here. Or if I hold it in my hand I would just hold it like this and that’s all. Or usually most of the time it will be sitting in a bag, inside the bag as the audio recording kit or the EDC kit for little bit of urban, urban, urban, urban survival, urban, urban, urban survival let’s call it.

It would be the technology EDC kit with adapters and USB cables and mini charger. Or I’ll see, I still add and remove things from the EDC kits and we’ll see which things are the permanent ones, which are most useful. For sure Victorinox pocket knife, the Swiss Army Knife. I don’t know which Swiss Army Knife to add to this one. This is my first Swiss Army Knife, the Tinker, and I actually use this one a lot. It’s a, the large blade I used it for a while but the most used it’s actually for me the small blade because I sometimes I just need to do small, small cuts on different materials and the small blade is much much more useful and I keep the large blade for when I need it more sharp.
