Pop Mart Labubu Pin For Love: How to Check If You Have an Original.

Hey collectors! If you’re into Pop Mart’s Labubu, you know the excitement of opening a blind box. You also know there are fakes out there, often called “Lafufu.” I just got the new Pin For Love set from the official Pop Mart store, so let’s look at how you can check your box and figure out if you have a genuine original Labubu.

What’s in the New Pin For Love Set?

We ordered three blind boxes directly from Pop Mart. This is the new “The Monster by Kasing” series. The whole theme is about letters and words. Each tiny Labubu doll comes with a letter pendant. You can mix and match them on a keychain to spell something out. They’re actually smaller than the previous “Big Into Energy” series, which makes them super cute and easy to wear or display.

Inside each box, you should find:

  • A small Labubu vinyl doll.
  • A letter pendant that attaches to the doll.
  • A little bag for the doll.
  • A sticker that shows the specific name of your Labubu character.

How to Check the Authentication QR Code

Learn how to verify your Labubu is real. Pop Mart has added security features to help.

Look for the Hologram Sticker

First, check the blind box itself. On the box, near the QR code, there should be a small hologram sticker. It has a shiny, shifting image of Labubu’s ears. This is a very good first sign of an original.

Understanding the QR Code

There are actually two QR codes:

  1. On the Box: This one usually scans easily and might take you to a general product page.
  2. On the Labubu’s Label: This is the important “authentication” QR code. It’s printed on a small tag attached to the doll or its bag.

I found this authentication QR code can be tricky. It’s printed very small. My phone’s regular camera app and a few other QR scanners couldn’t read it at first.

Step-by-Step to Scan the Small Code

I show you the steps that worked for me:

  1. Use a Good QR App: Try a dedicated QR code scanner app from your app store. These often handle difficult codes better.
  2. Get Close and Steady: Hold the label close to your phone’s camera. Make sure the lighting is good.
  3. Try a Photo First: If it still won’t scan, take a very clear, close-up photo of the QR code. Then, open that photo inside your QR scanner app and use the “scan from image” feature. This method finally worked for me!

If that QR code scans and takes you to an official Pop Mart verification page, you have an original. If the code doesn’t exist, looks poorly printed, or takes you somewhere weird, it’s likely a fake.

Comparing Build Quality of the Original

When you open an original, you’ll notice the quality. The vinyl feels smooth and well-painted, with no weird chemical smell. The colors are vibrant, and the little details, like the pendant attachment, are clean and work properly. The included sticker and bag also have sharp, clear printing.

The Fun Part: What Letter Did You Get?

The real fun of this series is the mystery letter. Each Labubu has a letter on its pendant and stamped on its back. The sticker in the box reveals its full name, like “L for Lively” or “C for Cheerful.” There’s also a secret “ID Labubu” with a hidden letter you have to discover!

With so many colors and letters, the combinations for custom keychains are endless. It’s a really fun and wearable series.

So, did you get a genuine one? Guess which letter from my three boxes is my favorite? I’m keeping that a secret for now! Happy collecting
