Turn Off AutoPlay in Apple Music

Apple Music: How to Turn Off AutoPlay.

Learn how to disable AutoPlay in Apple Music. This stops the player from continuing to play recommended songs after the current songs in a playlist or album are finished playing.

AutoPlay is a great way to keep music playing even if you only played one song. But if you want to listen to one album before going to sleep, turn off AutoPlay to prevent continuing music playback after the current playlist or album is finished.

This was shown on iOS 26.2 on iPhone 16 Pro Max Titanium Black 256 GB version Global model A3296 – MYWV3ZD/A.

What AutoPlay Does

If you have AutoPlay on, your Apple Music player will keep playing songs even if you have only one song playing currently.

For example, if you go to the album of a song and there is only one song there, and you are playing this song, it is one song. If you go into the Up Next view to see what is going to continue playing, you see that AutoPlay is going to play similar music based on the current song.

Apple Music How to Turn Off AutoPlay Video

Step 1: Open the Up Next View

In the view, you have the player. That is the Up Next view.

Step 2: Turn Off AutoPlay

Look for the AutoPlay button. Turn off AutoPlay. Then there is no next song.

What Happens When AutoPlay Is Off

This will still continue to play the next songs if you are in a playlist or in an album with more songs.

For example, with the favorite songs, even with AutoPlay off, you still have the continuing songs from that playlist. That is not going to change anything.

When the playlist is finished, you could choose to repeat it or even repeat only one song. You could even shuffle the playlist so it is more random. Every time you shuffle the playlist, it changes the order.

How AutoPlay Affects Playback

This is the AutoPlay. If you want this off, you can keep it off. It will only affect the player when there is nothing else to play in a playlist or an album.

If there are things to play, you will not really notice a difference here until the playlist is finished.

I hope this helps you.
