IKEA Malomrade Gaming Standing Desk: Height Adjustable 180×80 Triple Monitor Setup
Learn about the IKEA Malomrade adjustable standing desk. This is the best gaming desk from IKEA so far. Especially the monitor arms and the monitor mounting bar at the back look very interesting.
The IKEA adjustable standing desks are getting better and better. Before the IKEA MITTZON was the favorite standing desk setup but now the Malomrade is by far the best standing desk in my opinion.
IKEA Gaming Desk Overview
This is probably the best gaming desk from IKEA so far, the Malomrade. This one is 599 now.
Look at the arm here for the monitor. It has this really interesting rail for the desk. The monitor arm looks very sturdy. They look much better than the previous options they had. It is something like a whole setup.
There is a panel even. It is not even clear what to put on that board, but there could be some silver play button for example. The desk itself is not very complicated, but it is nice that it has a keyboard here.

Desk Controls and Stability
This seems to be an actual keyboard with mechanical keyboard switches. You have the usual setup when you adjust the desk up or down. Also you have two presets.
The legs of the desk seem very sturdy. In general the standing desks have a bit of a problem when they are at the highest position, they wobble a bit. But usually on the sitting position on the lower positions they are as sturdy as any other desk.
The difference here is that you can adjust it and you can stand or you can sit and the whole thing adjusts the whole desk, including that wall mount and the monitors.
Monitor Setup Options
You could even have three monitors or you could even have four monitors there. It is not like three monitors or four monitors are needed. Maybe three would be an idea and maybe four does not fit really, but you have the option to even add those things.

Under Desk Mechanics
The underside of the desk seems pretty solid metal. All metal.
Usually these desks have a power supply and a linear actuator. The power consumption does not really matter for these desks because they only use the power when they move up or down as far as I know.
That is how the desk looks like. It does not look very complicated to assemble, but it does look heavy. So if you are going to install this, probably that is going to take some effort.
The buttons even light up when you touch them.
Gaming Setup Features
The desk itself seems very made from a sturdy material. The plastic probably so you do not have it wearing down too fast while using it.
This is actually a pretty good setup for a gamer or a creator, content creator, YouTuber or anything, any platform.
The best thing about this is these arms. They are really interesting and they seem to be very well set up like this on a rail behind the screen. You could add other things on that rail and they are adjustable.
This is the part that is liked the most. This can have more arms, multiple utilities, even a microphone. For YouTube videos that is perfect. You could have a microphone arm, lights even.
Desk Specifications and Assembly
The Malomrade 180 by 80. That is the desk size. It is a new product.
The legs could be made more sturdy. This is a common problem with these desks, but they are getting to where it is really good.
The cable is a bit hanging out like that. It is not very stable.
There is even a computer case. One thing about this standing desk, you have to when you put the cables going to the computer, you have to make sure that they are not forced. They are not pulled too hard when the standing desk is at the highest position. So that is one thing to think about, especially the screens.
You would need extra long cables for the monitors, HDMI or display port.
The top board is adjustable, removable in case you do not need it.
Final Impressions
The U arms are curious. Maybe for cable management somehow, but it is not clear what to put there.
This felt like one of the best desks so far. They have the MITTZON also the series which is more of a general desk but this is more geared towards gaming. The style of it, the look of it, it is made for gaming.
It seems really sturdy though. Super solid on the whole, but a bit not so on the high.
