I was driving after a really long day of driving to and back.
On the last 500 meters before reaching home, I heard a strange noise then clicking noises as the car tyre was spinning.
I thought the tyre or tire is broken but after stopping, I realized there was a huge hex bolt stuck inside my front-right tire.

Quick tire puncture fix

Did this repair temporarily and I will take it to a car tire shop to do a proper inner puncture pach or might leave it like that – not sure.

When to change car tires

The back tires on the car are getting close to the wear indicator and will need to be replaced.
When replacing the back tires, I will actually put the front tires at the back of the car and put the new tires on the front.
I do this to always have the better tires in the front and the worn ones at the back.

Usually it’s best to change the tires in pairs but I don’t change all 4 at the same time.

If you have a punctured and repaired tire, it’s better to have it at the back of the car in case anything goes wrong while driging at high speed.

The front tires are more important for stability

My car tire repair kit was not great as you can see in the video and I probably should have turned the tire repair strip before pulling the tool out but looks ok so far.

It’s really important to cut the excess plug stip so it’s not getting loose and coming out while driving.

After a few weeks I finally replaced the back tires,moved the front tires to the back so the new tires are in front for better safety.

Ideal inner tire patch repair

While replacing the tires in the shop I asked the guys there to apply a proper inner tire patch to the tire and make it a better fix than I did.
There was very little air pressure loss.
Within 1 week I would have to add pressure to the tires and was not going to think about the tire all the time like that.

The bolt that went into the tire was very large and not sharp but the pressure from the car made it do a clean punch-in hole in the tire.
It was interesting to see the proper ay to apply an inner tire patch and the tools needed.

When they apply the inner patch, they have to sand the tire material inside and remove some rubber and steel wire.
That process is very dangerous as steel wire pices can fly around at high speed.
Wear eye protection if you try to do that or keep away from the area.

I was curious to see how they do it but they told me to go back a bit when using the high speed air compressor brush.
There were sparkles and all.

Next they used a special patch with rubber adhesive and rolled in place to activate the glue bond between the tire rubber and the patch rubber.
