Why I Don’t Like Siri on iPhone.

I’ve been using Siri for a while now, and it’s just not as good as other voice assistants out there. If you feel like Siri is slow, doesn’t understand you, or just isn’t as helpful as Google Assistant or Alexa, you’re not alone.

1. Siri Gets Basic Things Wrong

One of my biggest frustrations with Siri is how often it messes up simple tasks. If I’m asking for directions, setting a reminder, or trying to send a quick text, Siri sometimes:

  • Misunderstands what I said
  • Gives me the wrong answer
  • Takes too long to respond or even quits without giving any response.

Compared to Google Assistant, which is faster and more accurate, Siri just feels slow and even buggy.

2. Poor Third-Party App Support

Another issue? Siri doesn’t play nice with a lot of third-party apps. If you’ve ever tried to:

  • Control smart home devices
  • Play music on Spotify
  • Use non-Apple apps with voice commands you’ve probably noticed that Siri either doesn’t work or takes way too many steps. Google Assistant and Alexa handle these things much better.

3. It Fails at Simple Commands

You would think a voice assistant in 2024 would get basic tasks right, but no. Sometimes, even simple commands like:

  • “Call and name of person”
  • “Set a timer for 10 minutes”
  • “What’s the weather today in a specific town?”

It get messed up. If you’ve ever Googled “Why is Siri so bad?” or “Siri vs Google Assistant,” you already know this is a common complaint many users have.

Siri and Google Gemini

There is a rumor that Google and Apple will collaborate to bring Google Gemini AI to Siri and Apple intelligence the same way ChatGPT can be used as a plugin with Apple intelligence. Hope that’s going to work better.

4. Siri Feels Outdated

While other assistants keep getting smarter, Siri feels like it’s stuck in the past. Apple hasn’t given it the major upgrades it needs to compete. At this point:

  • Google Assistant understands context better
  • Alexa works with more devices
  • Even Bixby has some useful features Siri doesn’t

Final Thoughts

In my testing, Siri sometimes works, but too often, it just doesn’t. Google Assistant is my go-to now because it’s faster, more accurate, and actually helpful.

This is my experience with Siri and yours might be different. I wish Siri would get better for everyone.

What about you? Do you have the same issues with Siri? Have you found any tricks to make it work better? Or have you switched to a different assistant? Let me know in the comments!
